The Dragons was a previous club of the SFA which competed for three seasons, S05-S07, with minimal success. Founded by Pie 4 Life, the new club entered the competition at the same time as the Las Vegas Bears. Before the commencement of Season 08, the decision was made by league administrator Frankston Rover to merge the Dragons with fellow stragglers Southern Sharks and so the Southern Dragons were formed. The Southern Dragons still compete today in the SFA but are yet to win a premiership, despite consistently finishing in the top half of the ladder.
